In Loving Memory of Rev. Dr. David S. Newell

Dear friends, on November 18, 2023, we faced a profound loss. Our precious senior pastor and leader, Pastor David S. Newell, passed away into glory to be with the Lord. We are heartbroken at his loss, but also find solace in rejoicing, for he is surely walking the streets of gold now. Pastor Dave was deeply loved, his life a testament to his dedication to ministering to others.
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8
In his time with us at River of Life Raleigh, Pastor Dave embodied a spirit of unwavering faith and compassion. His sermons, rich in wisdom and warmth, reached the hearts of all who listened. He was a beacon of God’s love, inspiring each of us to embrace our faith more fully and love more deeply.
As we mourn his passing, we also honor the remarkable legacy he has left behind. His teachings and his life, an embodiment of Christ-like love, will continue to guide us. The impact he made on our community and in each of our lives is immeasurable, and his memory will be treasured forever.
Services for Pastor David S. Newell
We warmly invite the church community and all who were touched by Pastor Newell’s life to honor his memory:
- Viewing: Friday, November 24th, 6-8 pm at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, Wake Forest.
- Funeral Service: Saturday, November 25th, 11 am at River of Life Raleigh.
- Graveside Burial: Following the funeral service, at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, Wake Forest.
These services are a celebration of a life that was a beacon of hope and faith. Pastor Newell’s teachings on love, kindness, and faith will resonate with us as we gather to pay our respects.
